Google free desktop index program

This is a great program. It indexes everything you click on the file and it launches the appropriate program. You can have search results organized a few different ways. This is almost like a free dtsearch program, which actually is free on an "unlimited demo".

Google desktop is useless if you keep your work on a network server, as it only searches the local drive.

Google searches Microsoft files, not Wordperfect, it also conflicts with some firewall programs. While these other free desktop searching progams also have issues, perhaps one will work for you. Try:
