Great at***ude -- extremely pleasant to lawyers -- hard working -- rarely announces decision from bench; instead researches almost every issue and then issues ruling by mail

Judge Karlan is one of the most intelligent and sincere Judges I've ever known.
I have had several cases with Judge Karlan. While I lost my last trial with him, he went out of his way with a clearly reasoned legal opinion and ****ysis of the statute that is typical of how he conducts business. I couldn't blame him, he was correct as usual.
He is also very level headed and hates when lawyers bicker and act unprofessionally.
He is also a very good settlement officer.The Underdog's bite is much worse then his bark!
